Guinness World Records has officially awarded Barrenetxea a certificate, recognizing his strike as the fastest goal ever scored in a Copa del Rey final. In their statement, the organization noted: “The fastest goal in a Copa del Rey final was scored after 14 seconds by Spanish player Ander Barrenetxea, during the match between Real Sociedad and Atletico Madrid on April 18, 2026.”
Barrenetxea personally received the certificate and celebrated the achievement by taking photos with his teammates.
