Three-time NBA champion and former Los Angeles Lakers guard Byron Scott has stated that it’s time for 41-year-old forward LeBron James to move on from the franchise to make way for the development of Luka Dončić and Austin Reaves.
“You’re making $50 million, you’re 41, 42, 43 years old, right? You need to build the team around Luka Dončić and Austin Reaves. You won’t be able to do that if he’s still here. You could get two really good basketball players [instead]. You can’t do that if he’s here,” Scott said on a YouTube podcast.
Scott also suggested that LeBron could return to the Cleveland Cavaliers for a farewell season, allowing the Lakers to focus on their younger core.
