Victoria Cologne has announced the early termination of the contract with Japanese forward Soichiro Kozuki, aged 25. The player began his professional career while still in high school and managed to score in Germany’s top-flight Bundesliga. Now leaving the third-division club, his departure drew a candid response from the club’s sporting director.
“Sometimes things just don’t go the way you want them to,” the sporting director commented, reflecting on Kozuki’s stint. The decision to part ways comes after the Japanese attacker failed to secure a long-term spot in the squad.
Kozuki’s journey had been a remarkable one – from a high school prodigy making the leap to professional football in Germany to briefly tasting Bundesliga football. However, his time at Victoria Cologne did not meet expectations, leading to the mutual agreement to end his contract.
