Acting CSKA head coach Dmitry Igdisamov shared his team’s objective for the final match of the Mir Russian Premier League season.
“We have one game left, and our goal is to win it with a positive mindset. It’s clear that this season has been unsuccessful for us, as we always fight for the top positions. For us, there is no place other than first. But we are athletes, and we will always seize any opportunity to win the next match and climb higher,” Igdisamov said, as quoted on the club’s official website.
When asked how he motivates the squad, Igdisamov added: “I tell the guys that they are great masters and strong personalities. Above all, they are athletes, and athletes love to compete. Our opponent is coming out to be beaten. That is the ultimate motivation. We represent this club, and we have a huge army of fans we want to make happy with a victory. There are also our families and ourselves. We haven’t won in a month, and we want to delight everyone with this win. So our motivation has been there, and it remains for the next game — we need to beat Lokomotiv at home.”
CSKA currently sits fifth in the Russian league standings with 48 points from 29 matches. In the 30th round, the Army Men will face Lokomotiv.
